Cape Coral History

Cape Coral belongs to Lee County and is a fast growing city that has its origins in around 60 years ago. It is a typical American city with European influence. The owners, Leonard and Jack Rosen, started to sell their estates north of the Caloosahatchee River into a true Venice of Florida. At the end of the 50's the construction of the first houses was started. Today Cape Coral has a huge network of water canals over 600 kilometres long.
